Open House for the State Library’s Rare Collection’s area
Have you heard the story of Mad Anthony Wayne’s bones? What about seeing a book of illustrations by Maxfield Parrish who was born in Philadelphia? Ever wonder who Violet Oakley was and where her work is in the Capitol? Want to see a newspaper where Benjamin Franklin describes his Kite and Key experiment? The State Library of Pennsylvania is opening the doors to the Rare Collections Library again to show off some of its unique items.
When: Wednesday, December 14, 2016
Come anytime between 11:30am and 1pm or from 3pm to 5pm. Visit during your lunch hour or stop by before you go home.
Where: The State Library is located in the Forum Building at 607 South Drive, Harrisburg.
The Rare Collections are found on the Ground Floor. No reservation necessary just come and bring someone you know. The general public is welcome. Call 717-783-5950 if you have questions or contact Ellen Shenk at Ellshenk@pa.gov.
