Pennsylvania Libraries COVID-19 Digital Archive
The State Library of Pennsylvania, part of the Pennsylvania Department of Education's Office of Commonwealth Libraries (OCL-PDE) has been collecting and preserving Pennsylvania's stories for over 250 years and recognizes that its citizens are creating living history during this unprecedented pandemic.
The State Library of Pennsylvania is committed to collecting and preserving Pennsylvania's stories. That's why we are collecting a record of library staff and user experiences during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic of 2020 for inclusion into a permanent digital collection. This record will illustrate how Pennsylvania libraries are amazingly adaptable, resourceful and creative, and will document daily life in library communities in the time of crisis.
Would you like your story to be included? All stories are important. We welcome contributions from library staff, directors, volunteers, and library patrons to record: what their day to day life is like; what challenges do they face; what are they learning, reading; and how they are coping. Our goals are to create an archive of library communities' stories during the COVID-19 crisis, preserve and provide access to the content, and generate a repository of innovative service models during times of crisis.
Is your library already collecting this information? We can host it for you in our archive if you don't have the ability to do that. Contact us at: ra-edmakerspace@pa.gov for more information about this option.
